We are entering in a difficult cycle whereas figuring out a mid-term position becomes difficult. Charts indicate that we should be shorting the market below 1290 but on the other hand we have strong support @1280 and @1260 with a market that is somewhat oversold short term and may trigger a surprise rally above 1300 before taking the next leg down. As I pointed out in a reply to a comment this morning the monthly chart (attached) could give us a longer term view on what is on the cards for the rest of the year, I see a trend line waiting for confirmation on a monthly lower low to fuel up a rally for the next year, in the meantime a broader trading range can be identified between 1350 and 1200 with a short term focus on a bearish scenario below 1290.

Disclosure: I setup a sell order @1290 with SL @1302 and TP 1200  and a buy order @1303 SL 1293 TP 1347. If both orders go wrong my total risk will be USD 20 on price which have already been booked as a profit. I will not scalp on this scenario but I do see scalping opportunities though for those who like it.

  1. Hi Cesar, thank you :) I'm still waiting for a price action indicator, I'm still too new to take chances that is not part of my trading plan or strategy.

Your disclosure makes alot of sense form a safe account protection point of view

  2. When you master the will to stay away from the market in uncertain times, you are not considered "new" anymore, that is one of the most important skills to develop. As we say in the motorcycle world "it does not get easier, you just get better at it"

  4. Good, just make sure you take profit in case that the daily close does not show any strength to the upside.
